Five Things To Consider When Implementing An ERP Solution

As you evaluate cloud ERP applications, we’re certain Sage Intacct is rising to the top of your list — just as it’s risen to the top of many industry analyst and user review comparison lists. You’re likely researching Sage Intacct pricing, partners and studying ERP implementation best practice guidelines — all with the goal of maximizing the value of your new Cloud ERP solution. As you continue your research, take in consideration five ways the right solution and partner can drive value in a new Cloud ERP implementation.

1. Consider a true cloud ERP implementation

There’s little doubt that cloud ERP is no longer just the future of ERP — it’s the now. Cloud ERP implementations have been outpacing on-premise ERP implementations for nearly a decade. Not all Cloud ERP solutions, however, are created equally. Sage Intacct is a true cloud solution. A true cloud solution offer several key elements, including multi-tenancy, elastic infrastructure, high configurability, self-service expansion, and integration APIs.

The advantages of a true cloud ERP are extensive, and beyond the scope of this article, but most stem from the fact that a true cloud solution like Sage Intacct was built from the start on a true cloud architecture. Other Cloud ERP applications are often retrofit versions of the publisher’s legacy on-premise application.

2. Look for active investments from the ERP publisher

Considering that most Cloud ERP and accounting applications offer a substantially similar feature set, it’s important to look beyond features to a Cloud ERP’s technology and roadmap. Sage Intacct benefits from active and regular investments from Sage to keep its technology and its functionality out in front. Four annual product updates continually enhance the solution’s functionality, usability, and power.

While features may be similar across Cloud ERP applications, it’s important to note that Sage Intacct is the only mid-market cloud financial management solution with a multi-dimensional general ledger and robust, easy to use reporting, giving you one place to go for a full view of your real-time business performance. We’ll talk more about the value of this difference in upcoming posts.

3. Sage Intacct can fit your unique business workflows

Sage Intacct is a highly flexible and configurable solution that is capable of supporting the workflows of companies across a wide range of industries. And, the solution’s capabilities can be further extended and enhanced through the hundreds of pre-integrated add-on offerings available from the Sage Intacct Marketplace and  through strategic customizations by your Sage Intacct partner.

4. Using a Sage Intacct implementation partner adds value

Some Cloud ERP publishers offer basic implementation services. They will provide standard configuration and training services and send you on your way. It’s important to consider, though, that the software publisher simply cannot be expected to understand your business the way a Sage Intacct business partner can. It’s not part of their business model. They don’t have time to speak with your users, to review the reports you need or to take into account where you want to be a year from now.

The best ERP implementation partners become invested in your organization’s success, learning how you operate and optimizing the software to match the way you work. It’s a relationship that Cloud ERP publishers simply cannot match.

5. Not all Sage Intacct partners are alike

BT Partners approaches Cloud ERP implementations differently than some other Sage Intacct partners. We do not measure our organization’s success by how much software we sell, but rather by how many satisfied customers and successful outcomes we help create. We take a strategic, collaborative approach to every Cloud ERP implementation, with an unwavering focus on delivering measurable value and a quantifiable return on your investment.  BT Partners relishes the opportunity to be accountable for customer success.  Simply put, we do what we say we’re going to do.

Value is measured at the bottom line

You may be considering a new ERP implementation for any number of reasons, but ultimately, we bet that you’ll measure the success of your implementation by the value it adds to your organization. The combination of a true cloud ERP solution like Sage Intacct along with an experienced partner like BT Partners can drive that value all the way to your bottom line.
